Bruce Cockburn has been a tremendously influential musician for the entirety of his 35-year career, consistently writing songs of weighty social and political significance. New York Times describes him thusly, “…Mr. Cockburn materializes chords and modal filigrees while his thumb provides the music’s pulse and its foundation. It is at once a deep Celtic drone, a drumbeat and the throb of a vigilant conscience.”

Bruce Cockburn has earned piles of accolades and awards including the Tenco Award for Lifetime Achievement in Italy and 20 gold and platinum awards in his native Canada, where he is an Officer of the Order of Canada and an inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Cockburn was recently awarded the 2006 Juno Humanitarian Award by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for the positive social, environmental and humanitarian contributions he has made.
