Cracker / Camper Van Beethoven

etown welcomes David Lowery and John Hickman in a special “acoustic Cracker/Camper” performance. At the time of their 1985 debut, Camper Van Beethoven’s merging of punk, folk, ska, and world music was truly a revelation. Self-described as “surrealist absurdist folk,” the band formed in Santa Cruz, CA. Shortly after Camper Van Beethoven called it quits in 1990, Lowery began demoing material along with guitarist Johnny Hickman and bassist Davey Faragher, eventually going by the name Cracker.

These two innovative musicians are coming to etown as a duo, utilizing the amazing house band, the etones, to bring both classic and new material to the stage and to etown’s national radio audience.
