Kaki (pronounced Khaki,like the pants) King, at only age 25, has been called a “fingerstyle phenom” who has “double-handedly…dragged the art of solo acoustic guitar back to prominence, with an edginess that matches the temperament of her own generation.” The feisty, five-foot, New York transplant from Atlanta, uses the guitar like a percussion instrument, like the drums she played growing up. When Kaki King opened for David Lindley, he was prompted to report “she scared the audience to death. Jaws dropped, she’s a really fearless player.”
