Ed found his calling after he befriended a young man suffering from Cerebral Palsy. At first Ed helped his friend with tasks and chores that limited mobility made difficult or even impossible but he found the work so rewarding, he knew he had to do more. In 1986 he and his wife cofounded the organization Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). The nonprofit helps people remain mobile by providing equipment, ramps and resources. Ed officially retired from the organization several years ago, but left it in good hands and it continues to grow. To date over 25,000 wheelchairs have found new homes and over $70 million of medical and mobility equipment have been redirected to those in need.
