Aired the week of 11/21/12 - #1247
Stefan Olson has been working with the elderly and disabled for over 20 years. Through his work with the non-profit organization People Working Cooperatively, he created two programs to provide low-income elderly and disabled homeowners with critical home repairs, modifications and services they need to stay safely in their homes. At the time of the original broadcast, these two annual events, Prepare Affair and Repair Affair, had brought together over 52,000 volunteers who volunteered over 310,000 hours of their time. The results of their efforts: 17,000 low-income, at-risk homeowners in Cincinnati had been provided with repairs and tasks critical to keeping their homes safe and habitable.
