Four of the leading string players in American music today visit e-town this week with their unique hillbilly string quartet, Fiddlers 4. Michael Doucet (of Beausoleil), Darol Anger (of David Grisman Quintent and Turtle Island String Quartet), Bruce Molsky (leading light of traditional Appalachian fiddling), and Rashad Eggleston (young cello sensation) combine forces for a true one of a kind performance. A veteran of the Greenwich Village coffee house scene, Lucy Kaplansky, gained recognition with her singing partner, Shawn Colvin, 15 years ago after taking a break to get her PhD and practice clinical psychology and is back with even more insightful lyrics and heartfelt vocals. Plus, Nick chats with former State Dept. expert on S. Asia, Lee Coldren, about life in Afghanistan. And, an outstanding e-chievement award is given this week in e-town!
