E-Chievement Award: Joanna Robinson

This week’s show is dedicated to the memory of one of its featured performers: philanthropist, musician and member of The Wronglers, Warren Hellman. Warren was an amazing man and we were deeply saddened by his passing. We are also very thankful we were able to share time with him in eTown. There’s great music this week when Abigail Washburn (a singing, songwriting, Illinois-born, Nashville-based clawhammer banjo player and vocalist, and a good friend of eTown’s) joins us to share songs from her work, City of Refuge. Jimmie Dale Gilmore, who is a longtime member of the iconic band The Flatlanders as well as a legendary musical veteran with three Grammy nominations of his own, is also with us. The Wronglers (featuring Warren Hellman) back Jimmie Dale up with their old-time sound. There’s also a touching E-Chievement Award story from a hometown hero in California. It’s great music, meaningful conversation, and so much more, here for you in eTown.
