eTown Live Radio Show Taping with Big Head Todd and The Monsters and Jesca Hoop at the Lincoln Center
eTown is happy to welcome back Big Head Todd and The Monsters for a live radio taping of eTown’s internationally syndicated radio variety program. Since 1986, when this Colorado-native band was formed, Big Head Todd and the Monsters have kept climbing the ladder of success in the music world . The original trio Todd Park Mohr, Ben Nevin and Rob Squires began touring clubs in 1987. Since then, the band became a foursome including Jeremy Lawton and has sold over three million albums worldwide. Their most recent album ‘Big Head Blues Club; 100 Years of Robert Johnson” was released in 2011 which saw the band perform with legends such as Hubert Sumlin and Ruthie Foster. A new album is set for release later this year. Alongside their recent studio work, Big Head Todd and The Monsters have been busy on the road. Their career is a testament to their music’s true quality. Come join us at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins to enjoy a terrific night of music and conversation with these long-time friends of the show.
Each eTown taping is more than just a live musical performance. It features music, conversations with the visiting artists, as well as an inspiring E-Chievement Award segment that highlights an individual who is going above and beyond to make a difference in his or her community.
Also joining Big Head Todd at the taping will be singer/songwriter Jesca Hoop.
Jesca has quite the growing collection of fans in high places: Tom Waits described her music as being “like a four sided coin. She is an old soul, like a black pearl, a good witch or red moon. Her music is like going swimming in a lake at night”. Peter Gabriel took her to South America to sing with him, and in recent years she has been hand picked to play as support on tour for Eels, Andrew Bird, Punch Brothers and Elbow: Elbow’s Guy Garvey even had her do a stint as guest presenter on his BBC radio show in early 2012, to great reception.
