eTown hosts Nick and Helen Forster crack open the doors of the newly renovated eTown Hall for an intimate evening of music and conversation with Canada’s City and Colour.
The voice is unmistakable – immediately identifiable by those that know it and intensely intriguing to those that don’t. It belongs to Dallas Green, perhaps better known as the man who writes, records, and performs under the moniker of City and Colour. Already renowned across Canada thanks to the success of his three full length albums – 2005’s Sometimes, 2008’s Bring Me Your Love and 2011′s Little Hell– Green will make his first stop in eTown to share from his vast musical well in eTown Hall’s unmatched intimate setting.
Joining City and Colour this evening will be the roots duo Birds of Chicago. Birds of Chicago, is a collective based around JT Nero and Allison Russell. Whether touring as a duo or with the full family band, Nero and Russell have emerged as two of the most compelling new voices in North American Roots music. For several years Russell and Nero’s respective bands, Po’ Girl (Vancouver, BC) and JT and the Clouds (Chicago, IL), have collaborated extensively, but on 2011’s Mountains/Forests, released under the JT Nero banner, they tapped into the true, bewitching power of their voices together on an entire record.
More than just a typical concert, each eTown taping is a unique live entertainment event that combines musical performance, information and inspiring conversation. In addition to lots of great music, the event will also feature a special E-Chievement Award story, a trademark staple of each and every eTown taping, highlighting one of the show’s listeners who has gone above and beyond to make a positive difference in their community.
