E-Chievement Award: Torkin Wakefield

Hosts Nick & Helen Forster welcome the dynamic, progressive, rap group Flobots back in this popular re-broadcast. Since they formed in 2003, the band has combined music with discussion aimed at combating apathy and encouraging proactive, positive action. The Boston Herald calls this stellar six-piece band “rap music’s most singular breakthrough act in years.” Acclaimed singer-songwriter Teddy Thompson also joins us. Teddy (the son of folk icons Richard Thompson and Linda Thompson) has consistently garnered critical praise throughout his musical career. NPR proclaims him to be “the musical equivalent of an arrow to the heart.” He’ll play original songs from his recent CD, which features some of his boldest material to date. All that great music and conversation is topped of with the truly inspiring E-Chievement story that takes us around the world to Uganda. It’s all right here, in eTown.
