eTown welcomes two more newcomers to the fold, with a special live radio show taping featuring Frightened Rabbit and Nataly Dawn
Frightened Rabbit began in 2003, when Selkirk-born Scott Hutchison began playing solo shows under the name, with his brother Grant eventually joining him on drums and backing vocals. Adding Billy Kennedy on additional guitars and keyboards in 2006, the band remained a power trio through their first two releases, 2007’s Sing The Greys and 2008’s The Midnight Organ Fight; Andy Monaghan (bass, keys, guitar) joined the fray as the band toured to support The Midnight Organ Fight. With their sophomore outing The Midnight Organ Fight a fixture on 2008’s Best Of The Year circuit, a fan base increasing in both size and devotion, and multiple sold-out tours of ever-larger venues under their belts, Glasgow-based Frightened Rabbit are showing absolutely no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Catch them in eTown’s intimate, solar-powered venue before it is impossible to see them in a 200-seater, and learn more about the group during the band’s up-close-and-personal interview with eTown host Nick Forster – a unique staple that happens at every eTown taping.
Joining Frightened Rabbit at the taping will be California-based singer/songwriter Nataly Dawn. There’s a good chance you have heard Nataly’s voice as half of the sensational duo Pomplamoose, who won the hearts of millions of YouTube enthusiasts over the last few years with their smart and quirky original tunes, and creative takes on cover songs by artists like Beyonce and Lady Gaga. Nataly will make her first stop in eTown to share music from her latest collection of solo material, entitled How I Knew Her. Be sure to catch her at the taping!
More than just a typical concert, each eTown taping features lots of great music by a pairing of diverse artists, plus in-depth interviews and an E-Chievement Award story highlighting an individual who has gone above and beyond to make a difference in their community.
