eTown welcomes back long-time friend of the show, Americana music legend and Grammy Award winning artist Steve Earle, for a live radio taping at eTown Hall with his band The Dukes. This special intimate evening will feature lots of great music from Steve, as well as conversation and road stories only Steve can tell.

A protégé of legendary songwriters Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, Earle quickly became a master storyteller in his own right, with his songs being recorded by Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, The Pretenders, Joan Baez and countless others. 1986 saw the release of his debut record, Guitar Town, which shot to number one on the country charts and immediately established the term “New Country.” What followed was an extremely exciting and varied array of releases including the biting hard rock of Copperhead Road (1988), the minimalist beauty of Train A Comin’ (1995), the politically charged masterpiece, Jerusalem (2002) and the Grammy Award Winning albums The Revolution Starts…Now (2004), Washington Square Serenade (2007), Townes (2009) and I’ll Never Get Out Of This World Alive (2011).

Rounding out the taping’s musical guests this evening will be singer/songwriter Joe Purdy. Joe was first with us for a taping at the Boulder Theater back in 2011, and we are excited to catch up with him again as he makes his first visit to eTown Hall.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to get to know each artist better through music and conversation at eTown’s solar-powered music facility, eTown Hall. Tickets for this event will go fast!!!
