Original Live Score to Buster Keaton's "The Scarcrow"
eTown is a nonprofit, nationally syndicated radio broadcast, multimedia and events production company. Our mission is to educate, entertain and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation in order to create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world.
Winners are nominated by our listeners and interviewed on-air about their extraordinary community work. Stories range from feeding the hungry to cleaning up the environment to housing the homeless.
As eTown’s host, Nick nimbly walks the line between musician & radio journalist, playing an array of instruments with world-class musicians then switching gears to engage those artists in conversation live on stage. As co-host, Helen lends her golden-toned voice to both the spoken word & musical portions of the show.
I like coming back to eTown because it is kind of like a distant relative. I always come here and feel like a human. You come to a place like eTown and you are a king.
Dave Alvin (Musician)
I’ve grown up listening to the show and loving it, and to get to be on it is a total blast.
Sarah Jarosz (Musician)
The one thing I love about eTown is the way they keep alive the art form that is the live radio variety show. I think that's a beautiful thing to keep going.
Keller Williams (Musician)
Huge, enormous blessings to everyone at eTown for telling the good stories, flying in the face of major news sources who know that the seamier stories attract the attention of we who cannot seem to look away from a train wreck...
Listener Patrick Feehan, Menlo Park, CA
Thank you very much indeed for putting this show on the web and allowing us to enjoy real music and be a part of all the good stuff your show pays attention to.
Listener Thijs van Loon, Holland
Avery’s passion is brewing, and striving to create the perfect beer is no different than seeking your perfect ski line or redpointing your 12-month project or fully relaxing into your lotus pose or sitting around the campfire and finally nailing that harmonica solo. Consider what drives you and craft the journey.more → Learn More >
