Original Live Score to Buster Keaton's "The Scarcrow"
eTown is a nonprofit, nationally syndicated radio broadcast, multimedia and events production company. Our mission is to educate, entertain and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation in order to create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world.
Winners are nominated by our listeners and interviewed on-air about their extraordinary community work. Stories range from feeding the hungry to cleaning up the environment to housing the homeless.
As eTown’s host, Nick nimbly walks the line between musician & radio journalist, playing an array of instruments with world-class musicians then switching gears to engage those artists in conversation live on stage. As co-host, Helen lends her golden-toned voice to both the spoken word & musical portions of the show.
In places where it is often difficult to find like-minded connections for social stimulation and growth, eTown has become like an old friend passing through sharing news, a new story and song.
Listener Tim Robertson, Hannibal, MI
We like tuning in when we work late in our shop because of the interesting music; the eChievement Award is most interesting because it highlights varied community efforts of people helping people. That's pretty inspiring stuff.
Listener Dawn Dreibus, Nebo, NC
I don't really think of it as environmentalism. I think of it as pragmatism, and not being rude to future generations. It's great that eTown is supporting those kinds of issues, and CAKE is all for it.
John McRae (CAKE)
Thank you for all you do to raise awareness of important issues affecting our society.
Listener James Robinson, Huntsville, AL
After being a big fan for the past 8 years, listening afar in Minnesota, I'm delighted to be a Coloradoan now and look forward to my first live show!
Listener Scott Harpin, Denver, CO
Avery’s passion is brewing, and striving to create the perfect beer is no different than seeking your perfect ski line or redpointing your 12-month project or fully relaxing into your lotus pose or sitting around the campfire and finally nailing that harmonica solo. Consider what drives you and craft the journey.more → Learn More >
