eTown is a nonprofit, nationally syndicated radio broadcast, multimedia and events production company. Our mission is to educate, entertain and inspire a diverse audience through music and conversation in order to create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world.
Winners are nominated by our listeners and interviewed on-air about their extraordinary community work. Stories range from feeding the hungry to cleaning up the environment to housing the homeless.
As eTown’s host, Nick nimbly walks the line between musician & radio journalist, playing an array of instruments with world-class musicians then switching gears to engage those artists in conversation live on stage. As co-host, Helen lends her golden-toned voice to both the spoken word & musical portions of the show.
I’ve been listening to eTown on WNCW for many years now. I love listening b/c it lets the nation know about all of the good things that people (sometimes right in our backyard) are doing.
Listener Veronica Johnson, Asheville, NC
What I've always admired about the show is its focus on activism, and the eChievement award that recognizes people who are trying to make this a more sane and endurable world.

Stephen “Brer Rabbit” Brackett (Flobots)
We got a group from Washington University that came through your program… the whole group volunteered! MAHALO again many times over. I love that your program makes a difference in such a huge way.
Award Winner Sharon Black, Kau Kau Wagon, Aiea, HI
The more I travel around and do radio shows, the more I realize how special eTown is, and I can’t say that enough.
