From the moment the title track of Billy Shaddox’s I Melt, I Howl kicks in to open this album, you get that twinge of excitement that this is going to be good. A breezy, warm track that immediately turns your head – a mix of pop melody, clean guitars, crisp production and immensely pleasing vocals. This Colorado native has the ability of melding both pure roots-y Americana and a skilled manner in pop writing. Which makes an automatic win for me.
If the joyfulness of the title song wasn’t enough (which it isn’t), “My Hands Don’t Lie” is an absolute pop gem – catchy melody, upbeat – all the right elements. “Feels Like Home” is the masterful Americana Shaddox has begun to build his reputation around – banjo runs, strident rhythm, warmly undertoned acoustic guitar and subtle harmonies; “Fireflies” is an acoustic gem – the effects on the vocals heighten the song’s emotional width and “Story Of You And I” is as sweet and embracing as a country-fied love song can be.

Cousin Curtiss produces rootstomp music at its finest. Lyrics with meaning. Vocality with power. Guitar with fury. Stomp with soul. And the guy plays harmonica like his hair's on fire. Cousin Curtiss's finger-picking style is reminiscent of John Butler, his harp playing is on par with John Popper, and his loop jams are straight out of Keller Williams handbook. His one-man-band, ceaselessly-energized performance is designed to move people. Ever practiced. Never the same. Always entertaining.
Shelly Rollison is an alternative rock/folk artist based in Denver, CO. She picked up a guitar in junior high and hasn’t stopped playing since, but music was always in the background. It wasn’t until recently in her early thirties that she began to truly delve into singing and songwriting. Better late than never.
Shelly’s first solo acoustic EP, Mountains, released in 2016. She spent 2016 getting her feet wet performing in Denver, all the while writing new songs and falling in love with all the beautiful people making music and baring their souls through their art in Denver.
In 2016, she also released an EP of Christmas cover songs titled, Gather Round: It's Christmas Time. She released three singles in 2017 –– Wild Woods, Settle In, and Shawshank -- and is preparing to step into the studio this summer for her next EP, set to release fall 2017.
