Celebrating 35 years of music, ideas, & community on the radio
eTown 35th Anniversary Special Part One

eTown is celebrating 35 years of making high-quality radio shows that feature a great variety of musical artists as well as interviews with a plethora of interesting guests. This week’s compilation show is Part One of two, but in reality, we could make hundreds of such shows as the treasure trove of archival content goes deep and wide. Part One features such musical artists as: The Blind Boys of Alabama, Shawn Colvin, J.J. Cale, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Billy Strings and more.

Also we revisit chats that eTown host Nick Forster had with former Vice President Al Gore and comedic author, Dave Barry.

We’d love to have you with us for our 35th b’Earthday celebration with NPR’s Lakshmi Singh.

This show moves through gospel, folk, roots and Americana, long our hallmarks, with contributions from The Blind Boys of Alabama (“Run On For A Long Time”) and J.J. Cale (“Doctor Told Me”) to Shawn Colvin (“You and the Mona Lisa”) and Sam Bush with the Sam Bush Band (“Vamp In The Middle”).

It also features Gillian Welch and David Rawlings (“Annabelle”), Richard Thompson (“The Ghost Of You Walks”), Steve Earle (“Guitar Town”), Billy Strings (“Dust in a Baggie”) and Guy Clark (“L.A. Freeway”).

It closes on a moving note with S.G. Goodman (“If You Were Someone I Loved”) and the great Bob Weir (“Only A River”).

We look forward to sharing part two of our 35th anniversary shows beginning April 22, our official 35th b’Earthday.
