Celebrating 35 years of music, ideas, & community on the radio
Los Lobos and Courtney Marie Andrews

We have a fantastic show lined up for you this week! Los Lobos return to eTown for their eighth appearance, delivering their signature energy and an eclectic mix of irresistible rhythms and danceable tunes. Also joining us is the remarkable singer-songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews, whose deeply personal songwriting and expressive vocals make for a powerful performance.

With more than five decades of music behind them, Los Lobos share songs from across their five-decade career on this week’s eTown broadcast. In an extended conversation with eTown host Nick Forster, the Grammy-winning band reflects on its early years performing traditional Mexican music, its unexpected rise to international fame through “La Bamba” and the new documentary Native Sons, which chronicles the group’s history. They also discuss their longstanding commitment to community and supporting music education in East Los Angeles.

Courtney Marie Andrews makes her eTown debut with songs from her latest album, Valentine, an exploration of love, loss and personal growth. A Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, published poet and painter, Courtney began touring as a teenager and has already released an impressive catalog of albums and two collections of poetry while still in her 30s. Her music draws from folk, country and Americana, pairing emotionally revealing lyrics with rich arrangements and her striking, expressive voice.
