eTown On The Road: Amos Lee and Indigo Girls

We bring you a very special show this week from Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado featuring Amos Lee and the inimitable Indigo Girls. Nick goes backstage to chat with the artists who share their unique perspectives on life and music.

Amos Lee

“There’s a lot of existential stuff in these songs,” says Amos Lee, who joins us on eTown this week for an intimate and moving performance from Red Rocks. Known for his soulful voice and insightful songwriting, Amos opens up about grappling with loss, aging, and finding meaning in a rapidly changing world.

Transmissions, Amos’ most recent album, is a raw and reflective record that brings him full circle — recorded live with his longtime band in a reclaimed-wood studio in upstate New York. It marks his return to producing and showcases a more vulnerable, orchestral approach to his signature folk-funk sound. Alongside songs from the new album, Amos shares stories of collaboration, resilience and the value of staying present through it all.

With a career that’s seen him share the stage with legends like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Willie Nelson, Amos brings both gratitude and wisdom to Red Rocks  — and we’re honored to share the experience with you.

Inidigo Girls

With songs that shine a light on memory, identity, and the search for meaning, Indigo Girls join us on eTown this week to share music and stories; Amy Ray and Emily Saliers reflect on childhood, parenthood, politics, and personal transformation in a collection that’s both intimate and expansive.

With over 35 years of making music together, selling over 15 million albums, and advocating for justice across generations, the Indigo Girls continue to inspire with every note.
