This week on eTown, we’re heading back to a memorable 2023 night at Denver’s historic Ogden Theatre, where we took the show on the road for a special Taping featuring two powerful musical voices from the American South.

First up, we welcomed Hiss Golden Messenger, the ever-evolving project of Durham, North Carolina’s M.C. Taylor. With lyrics that touch on fatherhood, faith, and finding peace in a chaotic world, Hiss Golden Messenger has built a devoted following through powerful songs and emotionally charged performances. It was a real treat to sit down with him at the historic venue right there on Colfax Avenue.

Adeem the Artist is a non-binary country singer-songwriter from Knoxville. Adeem’s literary folk songs draw from a deep well of roots influences that explore the complexities of politics, race and identity often with humor and elasticity.
