eTown Time Capsule Episode: Abigail Washburn & The Sparrow Quartet / Vusi Mahlasela

This week, we begin celebrating eTown’s stellar season from 2008!

To start off, we bring you one of the most requested programs from that year: Banjo player and singer-songwriter Abigail Washburn visits us with her spectacular ensemble, The Sparrow Quartet, featuring Béla Fleck (banjo), Casey Driessen (fiddle) and Ben Sollee (cello).

Plus, poetic lyricist and powerful vocalist Vusi Mahlasela, known as “The Voice” in his home country of South Africa, makes his eTown debut (Nick & Helen Forster and the eTones layer in some lovely harmonies and instrumental support for him). And there’s a motivated e-chievement award winner from the Florida Keys who shares his heart warming story about his effort to save endangered sea turtles.

We’re proud to revisit this classic eTown program from 2008, with fantastic music and inspiring conversation.
