What a great show we revisit this week! From Nashville come the incredible songs and harmonies of The Lone Bellow. From Chattanooga, Tennessee comes the authentic and insightful song talent of Sunny War. And eTown host Nick Forster sits down with community organizer and urban farmer, Isabel Sanchez from Boulder, Colorado.
The Lone Bellow, the Nashville-based trio of Zach Williams, Kanene Pipkin and Brian Elmquist, returns to eTown. Since breaking through with their self-titled debut in 2013, the band has carved out a distinctive place in Americana, pairing folk, rock and gospel influences with their rich three-part harmonies. They return with songs from across their career, including music from their latest album, What A Time To Be Alive.
Sunny War makes her first eTown appearance with new music from her 2025 album, Armageddon in a Summer Dress. Born in Tennessee and raised in California, Sunny developed her distinctive guitar style while busking and drawing from a wide range of influences from Blues to folk to punk. Her latest work pairs her incisive songwriting with a bigger full-band sound.
In our interview, Nick also talks with Isabel Sanchez, a Boulder community organizer, urban farmer and longtime advocate for sustainability and self-reliance. Isabel shares how growing food became a source of empowerment in her own life and how gardening, disaster preparedness and neighbor-to-neighbor connections can strengthen a community.
