This week in eTown we revisit a show that features two musicians from the great white north of Canada. Feist and her band make their first appearance along with fellow eTown neophyte, Sam Weber. Nick also has a chat with Sarah Townes, the CFO of the American Solar Energy SocIety, about aiding Native Americans in South Dakota.
Widely recognized as one of the most compelling voices in indie music, Leslie Feist is a 14-time Juno Award winner and founding member of Broken Social Scene. After her breakout with Let It Die, she earned global acclaim with 2007’s The Reminder, landing four Grammy nominations. Her Polaris Prize-winning Metals and 2023’s Multitudes further cemented her legacy, with The New York Times naming three of her albums “Album of the Year,” a feat unmatched by any other artist.
Sam Weber, a Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer, blends folk, rock and Americana into emotionally rich songs. Known for his intricate guitar work and evocative vocals, he has toured internationally and collaborated with Bahamas and Madison Cunningham, showcasing both his musicianship and versatile artistry.
Sarah Townes, a singer and vocal teacher, balances her artistic pursuits with her work promoting renewable energy through the American Solar Energy Society. Her most recent album is available on iTunes.
