The Music in Action grant will amplify eTown's mission to support artists throughout the next year
eTown Hall has been selected as a 2025 Music in Action grantee by Live Music Society, a national organization dedicated to sustaining small music venues and the power of live performance.
This generous grant will allow us to host musician residencies through 2026, bringing extraordinary artists to Boulder to create, perform and connect with our community in new and meaningful ways. Our first Artist-In-Residence is Matt Butler of Everyone Orchestra. His residency culminates in a November 4 performance here at eTown.

Artists-in-residence will use our solar-powered eTown Hall to record original music, perform live shows for our radio and podcast audiences and participate in community outreach that includes youth programs, public workshops and masterclasses.
“We’re deeply grateful to the Live Music Society for recognizing the essential role venues like ours play in the cultural fabric of our communities,” said Nick Forster, eTown Founder and Executive Director. “This support allows us to bring world-class artists to Boulder to more fully engage with a broad cross-section of our community.”
As a nonprofit rooted in storytelling, social responsibility, and shared experience, this grant helps eTown further its mission to use music as a force for connection and change.
“Together, we’re building spaces where music, conversation and connection thrive,” said Devon Forster, Director of Development and Community Outreach. “This grant is fuel for the future we’re creating.”
eTown is proud to join a national cohort of 26 venues selected for Music in Action funding in 2025. Since launching in 2023, Live Music Society’s grant program has awarded 236 grants to 201 small venues across 28 states and Washington, D.C.
Stay tuned for updates on our Artist-in-Residence program and upcoming community events.
