Age of Guinevere is Fairview High School’s elite female vocal jazz ensemble consisting of 20 women (9 seniors and 11 juniors). Making its debut as an extra-curricular choir in December of 2007 and added to the Fairview curriculum in fall of 2008, Age of Guinevere has been chosen to perform twice at the Colorado Music Educators Association annual conference and also won the prestigious 2011 Downbeat Award for Large Jazz Groups. At Fairview, Age of Guinevere performs in four school choral concerts, at the South Boulder Area Festival, the Evening of Open Enrollment, the homecoming assembly, and the Pop Show. They also participate in the CHSAA and UNC Jazz Festivals. Singing both a cappella and accompanied, these women perform a range of styles from classic jazz standards to today’s contemporary sound. Every year, members of Age of Guinevere are selected to sing in Colorado All State Choir and Colorado All State Jazz Choir. While striving for an exceptional level of musicality and presentation, the girls also enjoy a true sense of family within the group.
The 2015-2016 Age of Guinevere roster includes Samara Angel, Constandina Brown, Karis Dudrey, Alex Guthrie, Gabi Hamm, Meghan Hempstead, Sadie Howard, Avery James, Julia Jenak, Zoe Kearney, Aria Klein, Kelsey Knapp, Emma Kolbrener, Kianna Lackman, Ella Leh, Zoe Romyn, Emily Southard, Carlyn Tan, Cassidy Waldrip, and Arie Wright.
