The tables are turning.

For this special b’Earth Day celebration – eTown’s 35th –  eTown founder Nick Forster steps out of his usual role as interviewer and joins his wife Helen in the guest seat.

To mark this 35th anniversary, acclaimed NPR journalist Lakshmi Singh takes the interviewer’s chair for a live conversation with Nick and Helen as they answer the questions this time. What does it take to build something that lasts? What have they learned along the way? And what comes next for eTown?

For years, Nick has been one of our preeminent interviewers, and for this milestone evening, the format flips, offering a rare chance to hear eTown’s founders reflect on the journey behind one of Boulder’s most beloved cultural institutions.

The evening will also include a short eTown video retrospective, and we’ll wrap up the celebration with cake as we toast 35 years of eTown.

Arrive early and stay after to connect with fellow members of the eTown community. The

eTown Café will be open with beer, wine, cocktails and sweet and savory bites available for purchase.

Whether you’ve been part of eTown since the beginning or are discovering it for the first time, this is a night to celebrate together and hear from the founders themselves about this fascinating story that is eTown.

It’s three and a half decades of music, ideas and community – and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you.

A limited number of VIP tickets are available for an intimate start to the evening.

At 5:30 p.m., step inside the eTown studio for a pre-show gathering with Lakshmi Singh and guests of the evening Nick and Helen Forster, featuring live music from Adam Bodine of eTown, along with drinks and light refreshments.

VIP guests will also enjoy seating in the first four rows.

Your VIP ticket directly supports eTown and helps sustain the music, ideas and community we share.

Lakshmi Singh

If you've ever caught yourself mouthing the words "I'm Lakshmi Singh" at the start of one of her newscasts, you're not alone. It's a thing. Lakshmi Singh, a senior news anchor for NPR News, has inspired memes, songs and voice cameos in film and television. Actor and comedian Zach Woods of The Office and Silicon Valley fame once joked with late night TV host Conan O'Brien that Lakshmi Singh was his "cocaine." Millions of people who gravitate to NPR have come to know Lakshmi's work well. Lakshmi is an award-winning broadcaster who is especially passionate about practicing “mindful journalism” while reporting the news of the day to help people process difficult stories and guard against news fatigue. To that end, Lakshmi launched a limited series known as The Sunshine Project to amplify human-centric stories. Lakshmi is also embarking on independent projects dedicated to sustainable journalism people can trust. As an anchor, guest show host, field reporter and documentary producer, Lakshmi's work has taken her from the studio to communities across the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean in search of extraordinary people dedicated to changing the world for the better...every day. That mission is more vital now than ever before.
