With his gritty, raw voice and resonator guitar, Hunter Stone has spent the last years crafting his own style of folk-blues. His songwriting echoes the simple melodic beauty of folk music of the past and his lyrical content paints pictures of the world we see around us. Stone kicks things up with the stomp of a foot drum and the bent notes of a pinky slide, bringing his lyrics to life with the emotional honesty of his voice.
Shanna In a Dress
Shanna in a Dress is a witty and wordy songstress whose folk pop tunes and candid stage presence will stick in your ears and heart long after her set ends. You'll laugh one moment and cry the next as she delivers a touch of humor mixed with cleverly relatable lyrics all wrapped up in a sweet voice.
Theresa Peterson
A pure voice is a rare find and Theresa Peterson has found hers, both as a singer and a songwriter. Her smooth tone echoes the ease of singers like Joni Mitchell and Alison Krauss, floating between octaves with melodies that stretch the line between old and new. Peterson's lyrics paint pictures, buckle knees and leave a sense of depravity and hope, wrapped up in unique chord structures and alternate tunings. She dives deep into the bottomless wells of love, death and life with her storytelling and touches the intangible through photographic lyrics.
A native Texan and a lifelong musician, starting out on violin at age 3 and writing songs since childhood, songs flooded out of her after moving to Colorado 5 years ago. The call to move west was ever present and it's now apparent why. After finding her way back to herself and pouring back into her music, she discovered her true voice here as well as a passion for creating community. She is founder, host, and curator of Boulder In-the-Round.
In April 2017, she released two singles Empty and Heat in the Fire and released her first full-length album All These Things on August 10, 2018. She is currently recording a new album set to release in February 2020.
