Excalibur
is Fairview High School's contemporary vocal jazz choir. It is made up of 31 young musicians, each of whom also participates in Festival Choir, our top classical ensemble. In existence for 45 years, past honors include performances in eleven CMEA state conventions, one regional convention, and one national convention. In addition, Excalibur was the first high school jazz choir ever invited to perform at the All-American Jazz Festival in Mobile, Alabama, under the direction of Ron Revier.

Excalibur performs pop and jazz music of all eras, exploring a variety of arrangers, styles, and accompaniment options. The group is a part of Fairview’s regular accredited curriculum, rehearsing four and 1/2 hours per week, with an additional weekly sectional on their own. Excalibur exists through the dedication and commitment of its members, with a great deal of emphasis placed on individual responsibility, mutual respect, and unity.
