An Evening of Celebration and Giving
Lose yourself in the sounds of Zimbabwe! Dance the night away to Tendai Muparutsa and ZiMBiRA as they weave together traditional and contemporary styles, infusing sheer joy and meaning into each show. Western ears familiar with gospel and jazz will recognize the roots of these forms in this inspiring and uplifting music.
Our event also includes a live and silent auction. Proceeds support special Kutandara Center initiatives, provide scholarships to students in need, and keep our programs vital and engaging. Please give generously! Register in advance of the event to browse the auction items and familiarize yourself with the bidding app.
The African Grill will be onsite, providing delicious and authentic South African favorites. Menu options will include vegetarian Jollof rice (gf), chicken stew (gf), vegetarian/beef/chicken samosas, fried plantains (gf), and puff puff doughnuts.
The eTown bar will feature a variety of upscale, organic wines, and beer from Avery Brewing Company.

ZiMBiRA celebrates the traditional and contemporary music of Zimbabwe. Their music is grounded in the ancient repertoire of the mbira and hosho. ZiMBiRA’s lineup includes guitar, marimba, mbira, karimba, ukelele, bass guitar, hosho, vocals, and drums.
