Jimmy Carter was the 39th president of the United States, serving from 1977 – 1981. In addition to all of his accomplishments as a naval officer, governor, president and ex-president, Jimmy Carter wrote 32 best-selling books.
One of them, Living Faith, came out in 1996 and, because of that, we were able to secure an interview with him for eTown.
He and I had a wide-ranging conversation on stage about his life in politics and beyond. It was an honor for us and a treat for all of those in attendance at Boulder High School when he joined our program along with Iris Dement and Cliff Eberhardt.
On the occasion of his passing at the age of 100, we’d like to share my interview from almost 30 years ago with one of the most principled and dedicated public servants who ever occupied the Oval Office. Here’s my conversation with President Jimmy Carter.
