Erin McKeown

Sharing the stage with Crash Test Dummies is singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, who stopped by etown not too long ago as part of the girl-group, Voices On The Verge. Self-compared to the “acerbic wit of Randy Newman, the innovative stylings of Bjork and Liz Phair, and the intricate arrangements of Elvis Costello,” Erin’s eclectic style is exemplified on her latest and third full-length record, Grand (Nettwerk America 2003). The album is a unique blend of straight up pop n’ roll, New Orleans jazz, folk, fractured blues and more. Some of the songstress’ accolades include top honors in the Providence Phoenix’s music poll for “Best Folk Artist” as well as a Boston Music Award nomination for outstanding new singer/songwriter.
