As Loudon Wainwright III says in his own words’ “I’ve been a singer-songwriter for 35 years. I get paid to stand up in front of people, play the guitar, and sing songs to them that I write.” Loudon’s three favorite topics are family, the passage of time and death. Mr. Wainwright has been twice nominated for a Grammy award, was an actual participant in the Haight Ashbury Summer of Love, 1967, and “has sired several beautiful and talented children” (again the artist’s own words). His latest recorded work (his 23rd album) is the magnificent “High Wide and Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project”
