Acclaimed nine-piece band Sonia Dada is coming to etown!Their music is an uplifting collage of roots rock, world, gospel, and R&B. This Chicago-based band has long been known for their soulful blend of genres and undeniably great live shows. Their latest album, Test Pattern, evokes “Prince cutting an Americana-format album with Sly and the Family Stone as his backup band”, according to Paste magazine. Sonia Dada was formed in 1990 when four of the group met while harmonizing on a Chicago subway platform. The band has grown and yet no matter what experiments this diverse group might undertake, it never
strays far from the soulful core that is its greatest strength — and that soul, obviously enough, comes from the band’s soul: the intangible warmth that springs from the members’ comfort and familiarity with each other.
