Boulder Food Rescue is a non-profit organization whose goal is to create a more just and less wasteful food system. We facilitate the sustainable redistribution of food “waste” to agencies who serve hungry, homeless and low-income individuals while educating communities about food justice.
In particular, we are focused on direct rescue and redistribution of fresh and healthy food that would be discarded otherwise. The flexibility of our model, and the direct “just in time” delivery mechanism, allows us to focus on small gaps left behind by larger food rescue organizations and food banks. We work hard to accomplish our task with minimal environmental impact, and right now, more than 80% of our food transportation is accomplished via human-powered means (bicycles and trailers).
If you’d like to know more about our organization, you might take a gander at their bylaws, their sponsors, their donors, and organizations that they deliver food to. If you’re keen to lend a hand or have a question about food donation, shoot them an email at info@boulderfoodrescue.org or text/call 720-4455-BFR.
