eTown has pledged to donate $1 from every ticket sold at eTown Hall directly to Conscious Alliance, a Broomfield, CO-based national hunger relief nonprofit that brings healthy food to kids and families in their time of need, with a particular focus on supporting Native American reservations.
“We are really excited to partner with Conscious Alliance to support their impactful work on the Pine Ridge Reservation,” said Nick Forster, founder and CEO of eTown. “This partnership aligns with eTown’s mission of using music and conversation to inspire positive change in communities around the world.”
The Pine Ridge Reservation, located in South Dakota, is home to the Oglala Lakota Nation and faces significant economic and social challenges. Conscious Alliance’s efforts on the reservation include providing access to nutritious food, supporting youth empowerment programs, and promoting sustainable solutions to address systemic issues. That has ranged from supporting the building of traditional Indigenous walipinis (underground greenhouses) to distributing more than 900 musical instruments to Pine Ridge youth through its partnership with nationally-recognized musicians.
Conscious Alliance’s unique model of solving hunger through “art that feeds” brings together artists, musicians, and food and beverage brands to make a tangible difference in the lives of the communities it serves. What began as a grassroots food drive at a local concert has grown into a national movement — providing more than 13 million meals, to date.
“Our big thanks to eTown for turning up the volume on generosity,” said Justin Levy, executive director of Conscious Alliance. “By joining forces, we amplify our impact on community empowerment at Pine Ridge in a way that uplifts and inspires.”
